Forgotten Engine
Forgotten Engine v2 is a very simplified Strategy RPG engine made in GB Studio Beta 5. It started out as a stripped down version of what I used to make Forgotten Encounters - Two Wolves, but I've made some slight improvements. I plan on writing a user guide in the future, but for now all that's included is the project folder. If you need help, or have any other questions or comments, hit me up on twitter @nowheresoft.

Hi there,
First off can I say this is really cool! I ended up here following my nose learning about GB Studio and having an ambition to make a turn based strategy game such as this.
Do you have any plans on developing this engine further and updating it for GB Studio 3? From what I understand that's a big undertaking as the versions prior to 3 aren't compatible with it?
I've been trying to develop something within Unity, using frameworks, having no coding knowledge, but i'm really interested in using GB Studio.
I'm taking my time trying to learn the concepts of GB Studio and have been trying my hand at breaking your engine in V2 Beta to help my understand it a bit better. I don't suppose there's any documentation or notes you might have which could help my understand how the different scripts work, trying to get my head round the logic of events and variables.
Any help much appreciated!
Hi. Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I did make a few attempts at migrating this over to GB Studio 3, including just starting from scratch, but I didn't get very far along before getting pretty frustrated and just scrapping it. I know I did a pretty poor job of documenting things. My apologies. I do still have some of my notes, but I don't know how useful they'd be at this point.
This is the most awesome thing ive seen on gb studio
This is utterly wonderful. Definitely will be handy on my project. Thank you!
oh wow this is incredible! will save me a ton of work and head pounding! thanks for your hard work!
This is a really cool concept! Holy cow, my mind is just reeling from the potential of a SRPG on the Gameboy Color. Great work!
Thanks! I wish I had done a little more work on it but I got kind of burnt out. Hopefully it's a good jumping off point, or at least provides some inspiration.
